![]() IT Training and documentation case studiesPotential has completed various projects for a number of high-profiled clients. Two such projects have been discussed below:
Standard Bank launched a SAP project using Microsoft front-end for the implementation of a loan-income lending solution. The project required a blended learning approach, incorporating graphical processes training, as well as online self-help system training. The challenges faced by Standard Bank included:
Potential was called upon to establish a project team and to develop and deliver training for the SAP and Microsoft Solution to 6 000 users in over 600 branches. The team was lead by Zelda Gassner and included a total of 10 people. Potential’s solution was to initially change the client’s training methodology from being paper-based to an online self-help system based. Training materials were developed using Macromedia Flash and Madcap Flare (Robohelp). The project was delivered in five months and training of 6 000 delegates, delivered over four months.
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Fire Chief
Award has been bestowed to Zelda Gassner. Zelda has been awarded
because of her leadership and invaluable support that she gives to
the training team (and has done so over a long period of time). She
fights fires on behalf of others within her team … stepping in when
things get hot! Thanks Zelda, well done to you and
your team.
Scaw launched a SAP project implementing most modules including: materials management, sales and distribution, finance, protection planning and plant maintenance. The project required process and system training material development and delivery. The challenges faced by Scaw included:
Potential was called upon to establish a project team and to develop and deliver training for the SAP solution. The team was led by Zelda Gassner and included a total of 10 people. Training materials were developed using simulation tools and the project was delivered in one year. Training of 2 000 delegates was delivered over four months.
I worked with Phanie on the Scaw Metal Group and my BCX SAP projects. As team leader of the latter I found him to be a highly-skilled training facilitator and a hard-working documenter who always met deadlines. Phanie’s pleasant nature makes him a good team player. He is a self-starter who works independently.
